Group Exec

The Group Executive Committee plays a vital role in the running of a Scout Group.  Executive Committees make decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure that the best quality Scouting experience can be delivered to young people in the Group.

An Executive Committee typically consists of:

  • An Elected Chairman
  • An Elected Secretary
  • An Elected Treasurer
  • The Group Scout Leader (GSL)
  • Beaver Section Leader (BSL)
  • Cub Section Leader (CSL)
  • Scout Section Leader (SL)
  • Explorer Section Leader (ESL) if appropriate
  • Nominated members (such as parent representatives)
  • Co-opted members – enlisted because they have specific skills
